Steve is a lifelong martial artist with over 30 years of experience across multiple disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Judo, Boxing, and Wrestling.
He brings a technical, humble, and historically rich perspective to the Honey Badger team, where he provides advanced grappling instruction and supports the development of our BJJ program.
Steve began his grappling journey in the mid-90s, training informally at local judo clubs before joining some of Ontario’s earliest BJJ communities. He earned his brown belt under the Nova União banner after over a decade of training at Xtreme Couture Toronto, a hub for competitive grapplers and MMA fighters.
His teaching style emphasizes foundational mechanics, practical application, and a deep respect for martial arts history.
