At Honey Badger Muay Thai & BJJ, safety and longevity in training are top priorities.

All students must have the appropriate protective gear for technical and live-action drills to ensure injury-free practice. While our programs are designed to be accessible for families and working professionals, only coach-approved students (sparring not mandatory) and active fight team members will be permitted to participate in sparring.

This policy helps us maintain a safe, respectful, and reality-based environment where everyone can enjoy the art and grow at their own pace.

Train smart. Train safe. Train Honey Badger.

Martial Arts Code of Conduct & Gym Etiquette

To maintain a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all students, families, and visitors, the following code of conduct must be followed at all times:

Respect the Mats:

  • Absolutely no shoes on the mats—bare feet only. This keeps our training space clean and hygienic.
  • Do not walk off the mats barefoot into the lobby or washroom.

Be On Time:

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early to prepare and warm up. Late arrivals disrupt the class and your own focus.

Hygiene & Cleanliness:

  • Keep uniforms, gear, and yourself clean. Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed.
  • Any open cuts or skin conditions must be properly covered.
  • No heavy colognes or perfumes.

Respect Training Partners:

  • Train with control and awareness. We build each other up, not tear each other down.
  • No egos, no unsafe behavior, no unsanctioned sparring.

Listen to Your Coaches:

  • Follow instructions the first time. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

No Phones on the Mats:

  • Phones must be silenced and stored away during class unless permission is granted for filming or photos.

Proper Gear is Mandatory:

  • All required safety equipment must be worn during drills and sparring. This is non-negotiable for your safety and others’.

Support One Another:

  • Encourage, uplift, and motivate your teammates. We are a family, not competitors in the room.

Have a Warrior’s Mindset:

  • Train with focus, effort, humility, and the willingness to grow—even when it’s hard.

By joining Honey Badger Muay Thai & BJJ, you’re becoming part of a team that holds itself to the highest standards—in training, attitude, and spirit. Thank you for helping us keep our gym clean, safe, and full of mutual respect.
